I went to Puerto Penasco at Sonora Mexico, we were looking for a relaxing vacation, I checked at Internet about hotels and services there, the best option that I found according to the comments was The Grand Mayan hotel, because it seems like mayanresorts made a lot of investment in the area, which means that they are pioneers of infrastructure at the town, and according to elementary logic, they must have the best facilities, at least in this region.

We bought a timeshare at the Mayan Palace in Puerto Penasco since the first day that we saw the complex in January 2003. Our last visit was in March of 2007 for a week. My wife and I have been going to Puerto Penasco for several years and we haven’t had any repentance for buying there, in fact it is the opposite, we are more than glad to be members in this magnificent hotel.

Whole Hotel is gorgeous, the bedrooms are amazing, everything is very clean and the gardens are always in maintenance. Food is wonderful, it could be a little expensive, not too much really, but it’s worth any penny that you pay for it. There are a lot of activities for all the family and also there is the option to stay under the palms or in the pool, just for resting. The beach is beautiful, huge and sandy with a lot of aquatic life, which it’s easily observed because the nearness; we have seen dolphins, crabs, octopuses, etc. The temperature is nice from spring to autumn.

I just want to add that the service is excellent, everybody are nice and almost all the staff speaks English, which is fabulous since we are Americans and we could see that the most assiduous tourists on this destination are, precisely, foreigners.

Some people had said that it’s bad to be 25 miles away from downtown but if you are looking for peace and comfort, this resort is perfect for you.
